Defendify recently sponsored and attended the National Systems Contractors Association’s (NSCA) Business & Leadership Conference (BLC). Held in Tampa, Florida February 27-March 1, 2019, the BLC provided integration firm leaders with a new level of business insight, camaraderie, and innovation, and helped them improve sales and leadership skills. As a NSCA Business Accelerator, Defendify was proud to provide support for this top-notch industry event.
A key focus of this year’s BLC was disruptive and innovative technology and its effect on the integration industry. Attendees learned how disruptive innovations have affected technology – and our everyday lives – and learned how to capitalize on them to further their business. With many integrators looking for ways to increase their recurring revenue, it was a timely discussion, and one that is sure to continue throughout the year.
Many systems integrators are beginning to explore cybersecurity protection options not only for themselves, but also for their customers. In keeping with the goal of recurring revenue, integrators are finding that cybersecurity is a natural fit with their current business model. Defendify co-founder Rob Simopoulos has extensive experience in both cybersecurity and systems integration, and he used this knowledge to provide resources and tips to BLC attendees interested in adding a cybersecurity component to their product offerings. For many integrators, cybersecurity is a win-win: they can easily add recurring revenue and diversify their business while protecting their valued customers against cybersecurity threats.
In addition to providing quality speakers, sessions, and networking opportunities to attendees, the BLC also featured two charity events supporting the local Tampa Boys & Girls Clubs and the NSCA Education Foundation. The Defendify team found the event to be tremendously valuable, and would encourage systems integrators, vendors, and other industry professionals to attend next year’s BLC and the NSCA’s other events.
