At Defendify, we pride ourselves on having a positive impact on our local community. Here in Maine, the great outdoors reigns supreme, and helping the community often means getting outside. We recently volunteered with Portland Trails on the PATHS High School Trail. The team got down and dirty spreading mulch, clipping trees, and spreading stone dust to widen and repair the path.
Portland Trails maintains 70 miles of trails in the Greater Portland area, connecting people to places and conserving the forest. The established nonprofit sees approximately one million uses per year, and the trails provide eco-friendly transportation and a place for children to play.
These trails are right in our backyard, and many members of our team use them regularly for walking, running, and biking. One of the trails is only a five minute walk from our office! Portland Trails was a perfect organization to volunteer with. It was rewarding to see the immediate impact of our work, and volunteering outside was a great way to bond with coworkers while getting some fresh air.
